Help

How the hub works

  1. Set a target band for each skill in Your progress.
  2. Open a test. It opens on a practice site in a new tab.
  3. Take the test there. Then come back and record your result in the list. The hub marks the test as done.

Words used here

C21
Cambridge IELTS 21, a book in the Cambridge IELTS Academic series. A higher number is a newer book. C1 to C6 use an older test format.

Each book has four full practice tests.
Session
One skill of one test, for example Listening Test 2. A book has 16 sessions: 4 tests × 4 skills.

Main link
The link in a coloured box, usually Engnovate. It opens the full interactive test. On a phone it reads Open.
Other links
IELTSXpress pages show the questions with answers. LangGo has model answers for Writing and Speaking (books 18 to 20). Search opens a Google search in case a link stops working.
Band
The IELTS score scale, from 0 to 9 in half steps.
Priority
The skill with the biggest gap between your average band and your target.

How your band is worked out

Listening and Reading: type your correct answers out of 40. The hub converts them with this table. It is a guide, not an official score.

Listening under 11 correct shows as < 4.0. Reading under 4 correct shows as < 2.5.

Writing and Speaking: pick the band you think your answer deserves. Model answers can help you judge.

Overall: the average of the skills that have a band, rounded to the nearest 0.5.
